Mortascreen contains the name and address details of nearly 7.5 million deceased individuals. Over half a million records are collected and added each year, around 50,000 records per month, which account for around 85% of all deaths in the UK. This makes Mortascreen the largest and most reliable source of deceased names currently available, with the most current collection of recent deaths.
To ensure maximum coverage, Mortascreen is compiled from a variety of sources including data from funeral directors, insurance companies, probate, our own collection service and other third party sources, now including Experian. Each record has been allocated a source indicator which enable users to determine their own screening levels dependant on the input data.
This type of ‘deceased file suppression’ is now seen as industry best practice, and for good reason. Using Mortascreen can help prevent unnecessary distress to the families of the bereaved, just as it can save companies considerable sums in postage and mailing costs, and the costly embarrassment of negative PR exposure.
Please be aware that Mortascreen may NOT be used for credit screening or fraud detection purposes.
